U.S. Business Seminars in Hiroshima & Takamatsu, Japan

The Commercial Service (CS) Western Japan, in collaboration with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), will organize a “U.S. Business Seminar” in Takamatsu on July 16, 2015 and Hiroshima on July 17, 2015, promoting foreign direct investment (FDI) from Japan to the United States. We invite U.S. Economic Development Organizations and service providers to participate in this seminar series to promote your region and services to interested Japanese companies.

Hiroshima and Takamatsu are major cities in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions. The Chugoku region consists of five prefectures, Hiroshima, Okayama, Yamaguchi, Tottori and Shimane, while the Shikoku region consists of four prefectures, Kagawa, Ehime, Tokushima and Kochi prefectures. These regions are home to many excellent small and medium sized companies with unique technologies. For example, Nichia in Tokushima is the world’s largest supplier of LEDs, and Nippura in Kagawa is a manufacturer of acrylic glass panel for aquariums with a world market share of about 70%.

Participation Categories and Fees

  1. Networking + Catalog Distribution (EDOs)

    Each Economic Development Organizations (EDO) can make a short (1-2 minute) remarks during the seminar. EDOs also have networking opportunities and can distribute their promotional materials to seminar attendees. CS Western Japan will send the list of seminar attendees after the event.

    Participation Fee: US$150 for one city and US$200 for two cities

    NOTE: This category is ideal for organizations with representation in Japan. Of course, all organizations are welcome to send a representative from the United States to participate, however, considering the cost of travel to Japan, these organizations may wish to consider option 2 (Catalog Distribution).

  2. Catalog Distribution ONLY (EDOs)

    CS Western Japan distributes your promotional materials to seminar attendees at the two cities. CS Western Japan will send the list of seminar attendees after the event.

    Participation Fee: US$80 for two cities

  3. Catalog Distribution ONLY (Service Providers)

    CS Western Japan invites service providers, such as consultants and accounting firms, to distribute their promotional materials to seminar attendees at the two cities. CS Western Japan will send the list of seminar attendees after the event.

    Participation Fee: US$200 for two cities

The deadline for applications is June 19, 2015, and the payment deadline is June 30, 2016.
